Dr. G. D. Pol Foundations YMT Dental College & Hospital firmly believes in a No-Ragging Policy and adheres to the principles laid down in the UGC Act 1956 Section (3) and Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999 and in accordance with the DCI guidelines in this regard.
The following steps are ensured to prevent ragging in the institute
- An anti-ragging committee comprising of Dean, 2 HODs, 2 teaching staff, 1 administrative staff and 6 student members to address complains arising thereof.
- An anti-ragging squad comprising of Dean, 2 HODs, 1 teaching staff and 1 administrative staff to monitor the situation in the institute premises on a daily basis.
- Information displays in physical/electronic form related to ragging activities and their consequences have been put up in prominent places including entrance, all floors, lobby, corridors, near lecture theaters, hostels, canteen etc.
- Anti-ragging lectures conducted on a regular basis to students by the anti-ragging committee.
- Skit on anti-ragging conducted as part of UG and PG orientation programs and students are encouraged to report cases of ragging on a priority basis.
- The contact details of the anti-ragging committee are displayed prominently at several places in the institute premises.
The following steps are taken in case ragging is reported, if any
- Communication sent to parents of victim as well as propogant informing about the event.
- Support system in place for the victims.
- Action taken on propogant in accordance with the UGC Act 1956 Section (3) and Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999.
